Advanced Word Search Game – User Guide

Overview

Welcome to the Advanced Word Search Game! This game challenges your word-finding skills in a grid filled with random letters. Words can be hidden horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, and some may even be placed in reverse! Your goal is to find all the hidden words within the given time limit of 2 minutes. Use your keen eye and quick thinking to score as many points as possible.

How to Play

1. Starting the Game:

   • When the game loads, a 15×15 grid will be generated, containing randomly placed letters.
   • A list of five city names will be displayed on the left side of the screen. These are the words you need to find in the grid.

2. Finding Words:

   • Look for the words in the grid. Words can be placed in any of the following directions:
     • Horizontally: Left to right or right to left.
     • Vertically: Top to bottom or bottom to top.
     • Diagonally: Both directions (e.g., top left to bottom right, or bottom left to top right).
   • Click on the letters in the grid to select them. If the selected letters form a valid word from the list, the word will be marked as found.

3. Scoring:

   • Points are awarded based on the length of the word. Longer words give more points.
   • If you find a word that is placed in reverse, you will earn extra points.

4. Hints:

   • You have 3 hints available per game. Click the “Use Hint” button to reveal one letter from one of the hidden words.
   • Use hints wisely as they are limited.

5. Obstacles:

   • Some grid cells may contain obstacles. These are dark-colored blocks where no letters are placed. Words cannot pass through these obstacles, so plan your search carefully.

6. Time Limit:

   • You have 2 minutes (120 seconds) to find all the words. The timer is displayed at the top of the screen.
   • When the time runs out, the game will automatically end, and your final score will be displayed.

7. Winning the Game:

   • Find all the words within the time limit to win the game. Your score will be displayed after you complete the word search.
   • If you find all the words before the timer runs out, you can see your score and start a new game automatically after a short break.

8. Restarting the Game:

   • After the game ends, whether by finding all the words or the timer running out, the game will automatically restart with a new set of words and a new grid.

Tips for Success

• Scan the Grid: Look at the entire grid to spot potential word patterns.
• Use Hints Wisely: If you’re stuck, don’t hesitate to use a hint to reveal a part of a word.
• Watch the Timer: Keep an eye on the timer, and focus on finding longer words first to maximize your score.
• Practice: The more you play, the better you’ll get at spotting words quickly.

Troubleshooting

• Grid not loading properly: Refresh the page to reload the grid.
• Letters not selecting: Make sure you’re clicking on the correct letter. If the problem persists, refresh the page.
